Puriri Poster

Last term Nga Rau Rangatira's topic was based around rongoa maori. We each had a partner and did some research on a rongoa we desired. My partner was Stevie and we researched the rongoa Puriri. I truly enjoyed finding information on this plant because it was a very new plant to me, I had never seen it before. I hope that someday I can make a puriri rongoa, but anyway this is my poster :)

My Goal

This week Nga Rau Rangatira have been doing art work based on our goal for next year. I found this pretty hard to start off with but once I found my goal it was easier and the more I drew the more I did. I really enjoyed it and I would definitely do this again. But anyway here is my goal and a picture of my art. In English and in Maori.

My goal for this coming year is to extend my vocabulary in every subject, I chose this as my goal because I need to make sure that when I go to college I am at my expected level.

This week we are free writing about our weekend in maori. 

I nga ra whakata...

Ka haere Mahuta, Maumahara, Awatea, Kingston me toku mama ki Kerikeri mo te netipaoro. I ngaro atu i a matou tetahi koura, engari ka tinihanga ratau. I maka ana ratou o ratou ringa i roto i te mua o tatou, me te aki. Ka takoro matou i a Karetu Ferns. I weroa ahau i te pi me te takaro ahau i te kēmu kino, engari e uapare ahau ki runga ki toku ringa na te mea e ko te wahi i weroa ai. 

In the weekend Mahuta, Maumahara, Awatea, Kingston and my mum went to Kerikeri for netball. We lost by one goal, but they were cheating. They would put their hand in front of us and they would push. We played Karetu Ferns. I was stung by a bee and I played a bad game, but I blame it on my arm because that is where it was stung. I was stung three times.
